Our safari vehicles with hatched roof for shade against sunny African wilderness; are extended body with roomy seats for comfortable sitting and stretching out legs. Every guest is accessible to window seat. Cars are also fitted with fridges, power charge sockets and VHF radio calls for easy and fast communication with base office in Arusha town. A vehicle in only as good as the driver and drivers are excellent. Each one is custom designed with an extra large photographic roof hatch, extra dust proofing, comfortable seats with seat belts and canvas covers, first aid kits, binoculars, a selection of field guides and a cooler stocked with bottles of mineral water supplied by Cross to Africa Safaris at no additional cost. Every safari vehicle carries a maximum of six passengers so that every passenger is guaranteed a window seat and access to the photographic roof hatch at all times during the safari. Every safari vehicle is serviced after each safari. Driver guides are all trained naturalists who have more than five years experience with us, they know their way around the parks and are skilled at spotting and identifying wildlife. They are also trained to prepare delicious picnic lunches in the bush, so that you can maximize your game viewing opportunities. Game viewing from the vehicle is one of the core activities of a wildlife safari. Drives are conducted in the morning and evening, but depending on time of year and weather conditions may extend throughout the day. It is often best to head out for a game drive very early after a quick cup of coffee and a muffin, returning later for a leisurely breakfast. Alternatively a camp breakfast could be followed by a long morning game scouting drive with a picnic carried along and eaten whenever the opportunity presents itself. Evening game drives are generally very rewarding, and it is during these times that we expect the best light for photography and enjoying the ever magnificent African bush scenery.

Walking Safari in Ndutu Woodlands in Serengeti
Days 8 – 11: Serengeti National Park
Tourists will have plenty of time to explore the Serengeti, one of the most beautiful National Parks in the world with an incredible wildlife. The journey is adapted to tourists’ travel period. In this season approximately 2.5 million animals are on their “great migration” to southern Serengeti. Because of the rainfalls in these months, the herds move southwards. You will get the chance to observe this unique natural spectacle! As our safaris have no limit of mileage and time, you will get to know whole of the Serengeti region. You also get to visit Ngong Hill and Moru Kopjes – also known as “Islands in the Sea of Grass land”. Tourists take their time to have a look around, rest for a bit and enjoy the nature! Dinner and overnight stay will again be at the special camp site, Serengeti Kati Kati camp.
Days 12: Serengeti National Park – Ndutu Woodlands
On this day, tourists will move to a lodge in Ndutu Woodlands. This will give the crew enough time to move the camp from Serengeti to Nasera Rock. Dinner and overnight stay will be arranged at special Heritage Tented Camp.
Days 13 & 14: Ndutu Woodlands – Nasera Rock
After breakfast, tourists will expereince a walking safari in Ndutu woodlands with an armed ranger. They will then return to the camp for hot lunch and then depart to Nasera Rock via game drive. There is an option of visiting Fig Tree if tourists are interested. For this, they drive on dusty, nearly never used trails to the north – for an excursion into the lost wilderness! Tourists will find a fig tree in untouched Maasai land, north of Oldupai and close to the Gol Mountains. Even if the group is not interested in trees in general, this tree will tell you about the last 1000 years. We found this tree about 14 years ago and used to talk for hours with it. We are proud to show our lonely friend and you will not forget this “cathedral of a tree”! Dinner and overnight stay will be at Ndutu Heritage special campsite. (Includes: Full Board)
Day 15: Ndutu Heritage special Camp -Malambo – Lake Natron
Passing by Malambo, you will reach Lake Natron which is surrounded by Shompole (Kenya) in the North, is opposite to Gelai and is next to Oldonyo Lengai – the Maasai holy mountain. A tough track leads to our tented lodge at River Ngarasero. Dinner and overnight will be at Sengo Tented Camp(basic lodge). (Includes: Full Board)
Day 16: Lake Natron – Arusha
The day’s drive is long and exhausting. Along the nearly vertical walls of the Rift, the track takes us back to civilization. We return to Arusha, and have dinner and overnight stay at Zawadi House Lodge.
Day 17:Zawadi House Lodge – Kilimanjaro International Airport
After breakfast clients will have a day’s stay at Mt. Meru Game Lodge and will later be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for their flight back home or for connection flights to Zanzibar.
During the months of December to March: You will also see the Great Migration here (depending on the rains). With rainfall, this excursion could become a real adventure.
From the months June – November: clients will proceed to Lobo Wildlife Lodge north of Serengeti National Park and then drive from Lobo to Warsaw, Loliondo and Lake Natron, as Nasera Rock becomes very dry and there are no animals in the area at this time of the year.
