Wildebeest Migration Safari in southern Serengeti-Ndutu area offers guests the opportunity to experience three of Tanzania’s most iconic areas, the lake Manyara, Ngorongoro crater followed by the plains of the southern Serengeti Ndutu Region. Travelling in a 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof is the classic safari style. The vehicle is fitted with seat belts for each passenger, a 40l fridge with water and a plug point for charging cell phones and cameras. Our safari vehicles with hatched roof for shade against sunny African wilderness; are extended body with roomy seats for comfortable sitting and stretching out legs. Every guest is accessible to window seat. Cars are also fitted with fridges, power charge sockets and VHF radio calls for easy and fast communication with base office in Arusha town. A vehicle in only as good as the driver and drivers are excellent. Each one is custom designed with an extra large photographic roof hatch, extra dust roofing, comfortable seats with seat belts and canvas covers, first aid kits, binoculars, a selection of field guide books supplied by Cross to Africa Safaris at no additional cost.

Day 1: Kilimanjaro – Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by our representative and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel. The remainder of your day is at leisure. The African Tulip hotel for overnight before you first day of safari trip.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara

We transfer into Lake Manyara for morning game drive and picnic lunch, enjoy our first game drive of the great wilds of the Northern Tanzania. Lake Manyara offers an insight into the Great Rift Valley system and the adaptation of many herd animals and magnificent bird life. In the late afternoon, we zig zag our way up the Rift Valley Escarpment and to the crater highlands for dinner and overnight. The Farm House Valley Lodge.

Day 3: Ngorongoro – South Serengeti Ndutu Region

Early morning transfer to Ngorongoro. Ngorongoro is collapsed volcano – an incredible natural amphitheater, 25 km across and teeming with all of the African big game. Early morning descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. After lunch, transfer to the incredible NDUTU areas of the southern Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Ndutu Mbugani tented camp

Day 4: Full day game drive in Ndutu area

Today, you will explore the Serengeti National Park in a full-day game drive. Your guide will take you closer to where the migrating herds are to be found. During the short rainy season in November and December, the herds make their way from the hills in the western to the plains of the southern Serengeti, returning north during the longer rainy season from April to June. Their exact location differ yearly as they migrate according to the rainfalls. After productive day you will return to your tented camp in Ndutu area for your evening meal and overnight stay at Ndutu Mbugani tented camp.

Day 5: Another Full day Game Drive in Ndutu Area

After breakfast today you will have another full day game drive in Ndutu region, if it will be around middle of February or beginning of March, you will be able to witness calving season when approximately 8,000 wildebeest are born every day for a period of approximately 3 weeks. Today you will have hot lunch at the Camp, after lunch you will have 1 hour rest at the camp before driving back to the open grassland for your evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Ndutu Mbugani Tented camp

Day 6: Ndutu – Arusha

After breakfast, we leisurely game drive en route to Ndutu airstrip for our charter flight back to Arusha. Additional onward arrangements can be prepared (additional costs apply).
